RMS Beauty Haul - Review and Swatches
I've been trying to branch out and try new brands of beauty products. To be honest it's been challenging since I'm pretty set on products that I love right now.
A few weeks ago I placed my very first RMS Beauty order through Beauty.com. They were also running a very generous gift with purchase promo.
My order consisted of the following RMS Beauty products.
"Un" Cover-Up in shade 11
Lip2Cheek in Demure
Eye Polish in Seduce and Magnetic
First up, the "Un" Cover-Up in Shade 11.
For reference I swatched RMS first followed by Koh Gen Do's Aqua Foundation in shade 213 and Smashbox's BB Water in the shade Fair/Light.
As you can see RMS Beauty "Un" Cover-Up runs neutral to yellow-ish in tone. It was a great match for my NC20 skin tone.
The texture is very emollient and blends seamlessly into the skin. That being said, the product never dried down and my face was left with a tacky finish that transferred like crazy! I tried it for a second time by attempting to set it with a powder and all it did was make my face cakey. That's a huge no-no in my book.
Next up, blush and luminizer. I was most excited to try the luminizer as there had been so much hype surrounding this product.
Sadly I was disappointed by both. One for performance and the other for application. Let's start with the blush. As you can see, the pigmentation on this was amazing! When I applied this on both my cheeks and lips it gave the most subtle flush. But again the product never set and I was left with sticky tacky skin.
Now for the Luminizer. While I understand that this product is supposed to give a dewy glow, it didn’t show up enough on my skin. It almost was like I rubbed Vaseline on my cheekbones. Not what I was hoping for.
And lastly the Eye Polish in Seduce and Magnetic
Let me preface this by saying that both shades were stunning. I loved the almost wet sheen it gave to the lids and they were super easy to blend. Well about an hour into wear, they started to crease like no one's business.
Overall I really liked the idea of these products but I couldn't get over the texture. They were all just too emollient, wouldn't stay put and left the skin feeling sticky. All of which I try to avoid when it comes to any kind of beauty product.
Is there a product that you couldn't wait to try and when you finally did it was a huge disappoint?
